Earthworks QLD since 1958

Six decades in the making. Still moving earth.

From a single Bedford truck in 1958 to 60+ machines working sites across Queensland — Ipswich Machining is a family business that has spent 65 years doing one thing: earthworks, done right, on time, by our own crews.

Today we're cutting somewhere in Queensland.

Who we are

A family name, earned one job at a time

Ipswich Machining runs out of Ipswich, Queensland — from the Turley Street yard the family has worked from since 1958. We're a 50+ person operation with 60+ machines, and we take our name from the Bachmann family who've been in this trade for six and a half decades.

No subbed-out shortcuts. Our crews, our machines, our accountability — that's how the work has gone for 65 years, and that's how it continues.

1958 → today

Six and a half decades of moving earth

A Bedford truck in 1958. A family business by 1965. A permanent Ipswich base by 1992. 200+ machines at peak scale. 60+ today — the business is still family-run, still growing, still in the ground all over Queensland.

The fleet

60+ machines, maintained in-house

Dozers, excavators, scrapers, tilt trucks, graders, loaders and compaction — bought, maintained and repaired by our own yard crew, so when a site needs iron, the iron is already ours.
